Diana Taylor is the founder and CEO of Sway Curtains, one of Sydney's leading specialists in premium custom made curtains, blinds and shutters. She built the business from the ground up, starting in 2018 with little more than a car full of fabric samples and a clear conviction: that Australian homes deserved better than mass-produced window coverings or overpriced, uninspired designs.
Diana's path into interiors was an unconventional one. Before founding Sway Curtains, she trained and worked as an actuary, and she still cheerfully describes herself as a "numbers nerd" at heart. That analytical, detail-driven mindset has become one of Sway Curtains' greatest strengths. Where many design professionals come from purely artistic backgrounds, Diana pairs a designer's eye with genuine technical precision, an advantage she sharpened further by completing a formal qualification in interiors.
It is an approach that has earned the trust of some of Sydney's most demanding clients. Under Diana's leadership, Sway Curtains has installed bespoke window furnishings in more than 1,000 homes, as well as landmark commercial spaces including the Sydney Opera House and the Australian Museum, projects that called for millimetre-level accuracy and meticulous tailoring.
Diana personally champions Sway Curtains' consultative, customer-first process, guiding clients toward pieces that suit their space and lifestyle, because she sees curtains as a long-term investment that should still feel right years later. She sources exclusive fabrics alongside a growing Australian-made range that spans sheer curtains, light-filtering and dimout curtains and blackout curtains, and stays hands-on across design, fit and finish.
Today, Diana leads the business from two Sydney showrooms, at Supa Centa Moore Park in Kensington and at the Belrose Super Centre, welcoming homeowners, interior designers and architects who want window furnishings worthy of their space.
